Softball team drops three games

The Siloam Springs softball team remained winless in 7A/6A-Central Conference play Friday after losing to Van Buren 21-0 in three innings at La-Z-Boy Sports Complex.

The Lady Panthers got behind 5-0 after the first inning, and Van Buren scored 11 in the second inning to pull ahead 16-0. The Lady Pointers (15-2, 6-1) scored five more in the third inning.

Van Buren pitcher Tori Stafford did not allow a hit in her three innings of work.

The Lady Panthers (2-8, 0-5) committed 10 errors in the field. Hannah Evans (0-4) took the loss for Siloam Springs.

Springdale 16, Siloam Springs 3

The Lady Bulldogs scored nine runs in the first inning on their way to a blowout win against the Lady Panthers on Thursday at La-Z-Boy Sports Complex.

Senior Maegan Kelley went 4-for-4 with four RBIs and junior Caitlynn Bradley hit a grand-slam home run for Springdale.

Crissa Spry (2-4) took the loss for Siloam Springs.

Both teams had 13 hits apiece, but the Lady Panthers left 14 runners on base. Heidi Fernandez, Morgan Pack and Kristen Barnett each had two hits for Siloam Springs.

Greenwood 13, Siloam Springs 4

Hannah Evans and Morgan Curtis each hit home runs for Siloam Springs, but it wasn't enough as Greenwood defeated the Lady Panthers.

With the loss, Siloam Springs fell to 0-2 in conference play against 6A competition.

Greenwood led 6-0 but Evans hit a solo home run to cut the score to 6-1. Curtis later slammed a three-run home run to cut the lead to 6-4.

Greenwood pulled ahead 10-4 and Phoebe Ulmer hit a three-run home run for the Lady Bulldogs to set the final score.
