Panthers win Pea Ridge meet, Lady Panthers take second

PEA RIDGE -- The Siloam Springs boys and girls track teams continued their strong performances Monday at the Pea Ridge High School Relays. The Panthers finished first overall, while the Lady Panthers finished second.

Panthers

The Panthers finished with 138 points to win the meet ahead of Farmington 112, Rogers Heritage 110, Shiloh Christian 56, Prairie Grove 53, Gentry 48, Pea Ridge 42, Decatur 24, Gravette 22, Huntsville 19, Lincoln 16 and Rogers 10.

In the 100-meter dash, Parker Baldwin finished third with a time of 11.61 seconds and scored six points. Trent Lion placed 15th at 12.34, while J.D. Horn placed 21st at 12.51.

Baldwin placed fourth in the 200-meter dash at 24.08 and scored five points, while Lion was 11th at 25.67. Christian Pearson placed 17th at 26.81.

Horn placed 14th overall in the 400-meter dash at 1:03.54.

Jose Calderon won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.09 and scored 10 points, while Gavin Efurd was fourth at 2:20.97 and Austin Cooper fifth at 2:21.11 and scored four points.

Elliott Pearson took first place in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 0.97 seconds and scored 10 points. Teammate Porter Lasater was second at 5:08.42, while Conner Humphrey was fifth at 5:20.88.

Elliott Pearson also took first place in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:56.01 and scored 10 points, while Humphrey was third at 11:45.85 and scored six points. David Williams was ninth at 12:56.50.

The Panthers' 4x100-meter relay team of Lion, Calderon, Christian Pearson and Baldwin placed fourth at 47.90 and scored five points.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Lion, Cooper, Efurd and Calderon took third place and scored six points with a time of 3:56.38.

The Siloam Springs 4x800-meter relay team of Cooper, Efurd, Lasater and Calderon placed first with a time of 9:16.79 and scored 10 points.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Ryke Beever placed fifth overall with a time of 18.45 and scored four points. Aaron Capehart finished seventh at 19.11 and scored two points, while Chandler Stewart was eighth at 19.13 and scored one point.

Beever placed third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 46.18 and scored six points. Capehart was fifth at 46.82, while Cody Casebeer was ninth at 48.11

Blake Jackson placed second in the pole vault with a mark of 11 feet, 6 inches, scoring eight points.

Kyler Duncan placed second in the discus with a throw of 120 feet, 9 inches and scored eight points. Cody Washington took third at 120-7 and scored six points, while Kris Greene was fourth at 110-11 and scored five points.

Washington placed fourth in the shot put and scored five points with a throw of 37-10. Zach Ramsey placed 11th at 33-3, while Colby Brown was 12th at 33-1.

Horn finished 10th in the high jump at 5-0.

Christian Torres finished 13th in the long jump at 16-1, while Christian Pearson was 15th at 15-11.

Casebeer finished 11th in the triple jump at 36-3.25.

Lady Panthers

Pea Ridge finished first in the meet with 211 points, followed by Siloam Springs in second at 133 points, Rogers Heritage 90, Farmington 38, Gentry 26, Prairie Grove 25, Shiloh Christian 23, Huntsville 17, Lincoln 12, Gravette 8, Grove (Okla.) 7 and Decatur 1.

Alexis Duffy took first place in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet and scored 10 points.

Taylor Gay took third place and scored six points in the long jump with a mark of 14 feet, 2 inches. Autumn Casey finished fifth at 13-7 and scored four points, while Duffy was sixth at 13-6 and scored three points.

Gay finished tied for second in the pole vault with a mark of 9 feet, and scored seven points.

Gay won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.39 seconds and scored 10 points. Duffy finished seventh and scored two points with a time of 19.61.

Gay placed second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 52.60 and scored eight points.

Angelica Lange took sixth place in the girls 100-meter dash with a time of 14.06 and scored three points. Autumn Casey was seventh at 14.11 and scored two points, while Rebekah Hill was eighth at 14.24 and scored one point.

Lange took fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.66 and scored four points. Casey was ninth at 30.72, while Allison Creasey took 10th at 30.94.

Hill placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:13.38 and scored eight points.

Duffy finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:41.91 and scored eight points, while Herring was fourth at 2:54.21 and scored five points. Maddy Hancock placed eighth at 3:22.32 and scored one point.

Jasmine Guillen took second place in the 1,600-meter run and scored eight points with a time of 6:01.78. Hannah Herring came in third at 6:03.92 and scored six points, while Sidney Avery was eighth at 7:10.77 and scored one point.

Guillen won first place in the 3,200-meter run at 13:00.26 and scored 10 points. Avery placed fourth at 15:37.21 and scored five points, while Hancock was sixth at 16:56.93 and scored three points.

The Siloam Springs team of Casey, Hill, Gay and Lange placed second in the 4x100-meter relay and scored eight points with a time of 54.92.

The 4x400-meter team of Casey, Gay, Hill and Duffy won first place with a time of 4:43.38 and scored 10 points.

Up next

The Panthers and Lady Panthers are scheduled to participate in the McDonald's Relays in Fort Smith at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The meet will be their final regular season meet before the 6A-East District Meet in Jonesboro on April 30.
