Panthers draw Little Rock Hall

The Siloam Springs boys are going to be in for a challenge in their opening game of the Class 6A State Tournament.

The Panthers are set to play at 2:30 p.m. against Little Rock Hall in the opening round of the tournament, which will be held at Panther Activity Center.

Little Rock Hall defeated the Panthers 51-30 in the Fayetteville Bulldog Classic on Dec. 6 in Fayetteville. The Panthers trailed 8-7 after the first quarter and 26-14 at halftime. The Warriors led 37-25 going into the fourth quarter.

Hall went on to finish the regular season with a 18-10 overall record and 9-5 mark in the 6A-South.

Siloam Springs, meanwhile, lost its final eight games of the regular season and finished 11-15 overall and 3-10 in conference play.

Defending 6A champs

The winner of the Hall-Siloam Springs matchup gets the prize of facing defending 6A state champion Jonesboro at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

The Golden Hurricane went 22-4 overall and 14-0 in the 7A/6A-East, easily claiming the No. 1 seed out of the conference.

Lagniappe

Jonesboro and Little Rock Parkview (24-2, 14-0) are regarded at the top two teams in the tournament. Parkview won the 6A-South Conference and will play at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday against the winner of Wednesday's game between Marion and Pine Bluff.

Alma (21-4, 10-3) claimed the other No. 1 seed out of the 7A/6A-Central and will play at 8:30 p.m. Thursday against the winner of Wednesday's games between Lake Hamilton and Mountain Home.

El Dorado was the second seed out of the 6A-South after going 10-4 in conference play and 20-6 overall. El Dorado received a first-round bye and will play Friday at 5:30 p.m. against the winner of Wednesday's game between Russellville and El Dorado.
