The 10th annual golf fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Western Benton County will be held at the Creeks Golf Course in Cave Springs on May 22.

All proceeds from the event will directly impact kids at the local Boys and Girls Club, according to Kyle Scogin, director of operations.

The Boys and Girls Club of Western Benton County has a total annual membership of 1,200 to 1,500 students, ages 6 to 18, at its two locations in Siloam Springs and Gravette. The club provides a wide range of programs from after school and summer childcare to athletics, Scogin said.

The Siloam Springs location is gearing up for a record number of students this summer because a grant has made it possible to drastically lower tuition costs for all families, he said.

Scogin is hoping the upgraded course will attract new teams to the tournament.

"Our goal is to have between 20 and 25 teams," Scogin said.

Team packages, available for $400, include four individual playing spots, four goody bags and lunch. Individual packages are $100 and include one playing spot, goody bag and lunch. A limited number of hole sponsorships are available for $100, Scogin said.

In addition to the tournament, golfers can participate in a poker run as they make their way through the course.

The first hole in one on the 10th hole will win $10,000. Cash prizes will also be awarded for the longest drive, the straightest drive, the putting contest and the poker run.

Cobb-Vantress is the title sponsor of the event, while Cherokee Casino is the lunch sponsor, Scogin said.

The golf tournament will begin at 9 a.m. and end with lunch at 2:30 p.m.
