When Larry Jones graduated from Siloam Springs High School and headed for the University of Tulsa on a football scholarship, he became a part of one of the country's most unusual gridiron traditions -- the Hurricane passing game.

Long known as the home of outstanding passers and pass catchers, Tulsa had in the previous three years become the "Passing Capitol of the World" and there seemed to be no end in sight.

Jones, a 6-3, 225-pound guard figured to fit perfectly into the Hurricane's pattern which called for big, strong linemen, backs who could block with a vengeance.

Paul Hoffman, owner of the Pizza Hut in Siloam Springs, was on hand with entertainer Donny Osmond to help kick off the 1985 Children's Miracle Network Telethon for Arkansas Children's Hospital. As a major corporate sponsor of that year's telethon, the Pizza Hut in Siloam Springs donated $1 for every Super Supreme Pizza sold from May 13 through May 19 to Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Crossroads Realty of Gentry bought the Bob Knight Century 21 Agency and planned to merge it with their new office in Siloam Springs, owner Delton Williams said.

Williams said they wanted to get into the residential market. He said they had been mostly in commercial and farm and ranch in Gentry and he thought Siloam Springs was a good market for residential.

Williams had formed a partnership with Denny Brown, who would be in charge of the Siloam Springs office.

Both offices were to be known as Century 21 Crossroads, Brown said.

After the merger, Brown said he planned to stay in Crossroads' location in Grand Plaza next to the sale barn.
