Siloam Springs basketball coach Tim Stewart believes Kyle Snavely will have a similar impact on Lyon College that he had at Siloam Springs.

Snavely -- a 6-foot-7 senior -- signed with the Scots on Wednesday after an all-state season in Class 6A in which he averaged 15.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocks for the Panthers (17-12). Snavely transferred to Siloam Springs from Springdale prior to his sophomore season.

"Kyle Snavely is going to do the same thing for Lyon that he did for the Panthers," Stewart said. "He's going to be a great add-on that works hard and is a great foundation piece to a good program. We think he's going to continue to improve. We look for him to be a really contributing player for the Scots."

Snavely was also considering Central Baptist College, North Arkansas and Blue Mountain College (Miss.). He said visiting Lyon in Batesville helped him make his final decision.

"A lot of prayer and just talking with my family and feeling that's what best fits me," Snavely said. "Going down there for all those visits, I really enjoyed it. I just prayed about it a lot and decided on that."

Cox inks with Ozarks

Abby Cox is happy to have a chance to continue her basketball career.

Cox, a Siloam Springs senior, signed a letter of intent Wednesday with the University of the Ozarks.

"I visited up there and talked to the coaches," Cox said. "It was really comfortable for me, and I decided I wasn't ready to stop playing."

Cox was an all-conference player for Siloam Springs in 2015-16 after averaging 5.7 points per game and dishing out a team-high 62 assists.

"Yeah we're really proud of her and glad that she's going to have the opportunity to continue and play, because that's what she wants to do," said Siloam Springs head coach Tim Rippy.

Cox will be playing for veteran coach Carl Ramsey, who Rippy is very familiar with.

"I've known Coach Ramsey since I was 2 or 3 years old," Rippy said. "You couldn't ask for a better guy to go play for and learn from. Hopefully Abby continues her basketball growth and also her personal growth. I think being a part of a team is always a positive thing and it will make her college experience more memorable."
