FFA Alumni Auction April 30

The Siloam Springs FFA Alumni will hold an auction to raise money for college scholarships on April 30.

The auction will begin at 10 a.m. and be held at the Siloam Springs Rodeo Grounds, according to ag teacher Rodney Ellis.

All money raised at the auction will go toward funding scholarships. The alumni association will be distributing four scholarships to senior FFA members who are going into the agricultural field, Ellis said.

Supporters can donate items to the auction or sell them on consignment. The seller will get to keep 90 percent of the sale price for consignment items and 10 percent of the price will go towards the scholarship funds. Those who would like to donate items may begin bringing them at 8 a.m.

Items that will be accepted include agricultural equipment, lawn and garden equipment, horses with negative coggins papers, livestock with health papers, and saddles and tack. Clothing and any kind of fowl will not be accepted for the sale.

A bake sale will be held prior to the main auction and donations of pies, cakes and cookies will be accepted. Biscuits and gravy, and hot coffee will also be available for sale.

"The alumni donate all their time and effort to benefit our youth," Ellis said. "Every dime benefits student scholarships. That's what's pretty neat about the people that do this."
