Boys track fifth, girls sixth at conference meet

MOUNTAIN HOME -- The Siloam Springs varsity track and field teams competed Thursday in the 6A-East/Central Conference Meet held at Bomber Stadium on the campus of Mountain Home High School.

The Siloam Springs boys finished fifth overall, while the girls were sixth out of eight teams participating.

The top six competitors from each event qualified for the Class 6A State Track Meet, which will be held Thursday in Benton.

Boys

Jonesboro scored 162 points to win the boys meet, followed by Russellville with 128, Alma 87.5, Marion 85, Siloam Springs 66, Greenwood 53, Mountain Home 42 and Searcy 35.5.

Cade Miller finished 17th in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.25 seconds, while Coby Roach was 22nd at 12.49, Montana Burke 28th at 13.71 and Colby Brown 29th at 13.76.

Miller finished 16th in the preliminaries of the 200-meter dash at 25.19, while Roach was 18th at 25.49, Burke 24th at 27.33 and Brown 26th at 28.85.

Trent Lyon finished second in the finals of the 400-meter dash at 53.58 and scored eight points. J.D. Horn placed 15th at 57.51, while Elijah Muessemeyer placed 20th at 58.95.

Chandler Stewart placed seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.53 and scored two points, while Gavin Efurd placed 11th at 2:15.12 and Charlie Jones 15th at 2:21.39.

Elliott Pearson finished second in the 1,600-meter run and scored eight points with a time of 4:45.95, while Connor Humphrey was sixth at 4:57.23 and scored three points. Isaac Leachman placed 14th at 5:29.95.

Pearson won the 3,200-meter run and scored 10 points with a time of 10:16.24. Humphrey placed third at 10:48.95 and scored six points, while Leachman was 10th at 11:30.41.

Aaron Capehart placed eighth in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.25, and he improved to fifth in the finals and scored four points with a time of 16.66. Caleb Ellis finished 15th in the prelims with a time of 18.78.

Capehart finished third in the 300-meter hurdles at 43.03 and scored six points, while Ellis was 10th at 47.12.

The team of Horn, Roach, Burke and Miller placed sixth in the 4x100-meter relay and scored three points with a time of 48.76.

The team of Capehart, Stewart, Horn and Lyon placed third in the 4x400-meter relay and scored six points with a time of 3:39.78.

The team of Efurd, Lyon, Jones and Stewart placed fifth in the 4x800-meter relay at 8:51.30 and scored four points.

Lyon placed seventh in the long jump at 19-9 and scored two points. Horn placed 14th at 18-11, while Muessemeyer placed 25th at 16-11.5.

Horn finished ninth in the triple jump at 37-9.5, while Jones was 17th at 34-10, Burke 18th at 33-10.5 and Muessemeyer 19th at 33-4.

Zach Ramsey placed ninth in the shot put at 41-3, while Cody Washington was 13th at 38-4.5, Kyler Duncan 15th at 36-11 and Wyatt Washington 28th at 31-5.5.

Duncan placed fifth in the discus at 132-11 and scored four points, while Cody Washington was 11th at 118-10.5, Ramsey 15th at 109-7 and Wyatt Washington 21st at 86-5.

Girls

Russellville scored 167 points to win the girls meet, followed by Jonesboro 139, Alma 89, Searcy 80, Mountain Home 76, Siloam Springs 66, Greenwood 28 and Marion 16.

Angelica Lange finished 11th in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.85 seconds, while Alexis Roach finished 20th at 14.51 and Chloe McGooden 24th at 14.87.

Lange placed eighth in the preliminaries of the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.28, and she went on to finish seventh in the finals at 29.84 and scored two points.

Chloe Price finished fifth overall in the finals of the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.89, scoring four points, while Gabby Hufford finished 15th at 1:08.16.

Alexis Duffy finished first in the finals of the 800-meter run and scored 10 points with a time of 2:32.83, while teammate Caroline Farine finished second at 2:35.11 and scored eight points. McGooden placed 13th at 2:50.00.

Allika Pearson placed second in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:46.83 and scored eight points. Jasmine Guillen placed fourth at 5:58.65 and scored five points, while Lin Lampton was 10th at 6:44.20.

Bethany Rodgers placed fourth in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13:38.25 and scored five points, while Hannah Herring placed 11th at 14:54.51.

The team of Lange, McGooden, Price and Roach placed sixth in the 4x100-meter relay and scored three points with a time of 55.37.

The team of Farine, Hufford, Price and Duffy placed fourth in the 4x400-meter relay and scored five points with a time of 4:25.44.

Duffy placed first in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 2 inches and scored eight points.

Roach placed seventh and scored two points in the long jump with a distance of 15-4, while Lange placed 11th at 13-10.

Roach took fourth place in the triple jump at 33-2 and scored five points, while Price was eighth at 31-0 and scored one point.
