Beever shoots 104 at Girls Overall

LITTLE ROCK -- Siloam Springs junior Brinkley Beever shot a 18-hole round of 104 and finished 15th out of 21 girls at the Girls High School Overall golf championship on a rainy Thursday at Pleasant Valley Country Club.

Beever advanced to the tournament after finishing third at the Class 6A State Girls Tournament at the end of September.

The top three girls from all seven classifications qualify to play in the annual event.

Casey Ott of Conway fired a two-under 70 -- the lowest 18-hole round ever recorded by a female at the Overall since the tournament was moved to Pleasant Valley in 2009 -- to win it. Ott finished second to Bentonvnille's Kate Robertson in the Class 7A State Tournament two weeks ago. Robertson ended up shooting an 86 which was good for ninth.

Forrest City's Elizabeth Moon was second with a 72.

North Little Rock's Hannah Bakalekos and Central Arkansas Christian's Allie Weiner both shot 79s and shared third-place honors.
