Boys cross country finishes third at Van Buren

Girls finish second

VAN BUREN -- The Siloam Springs senior high cross county teams competed in Van Buren on Saturday in their final race of the regular season.

"Times weren't as fast as we anticipated Saturday," said head coach Sharon Jones. "Van Buren changed their course some and apparently that and the weather being hot and humid -- we were off a little."

The senior high boys finished third overall out of five teams in the 5A-7A division, while the senior high girls took second out of four teams.

The senior high cross country teams are now off until Nov. 3 when they host the 6A-West Conference Meet. The date has been moved back from the originally scheduled Nov. 1.

"The good news is there are no more early Saturdays this year," Jones said. "We have a little time to recoup and get ready for conference and state."
