John Brown University announced today that it is changing the name of its Degree Completion Program to JBU Online.
The name change reflects the university's commitment to providing quality Christian higher education options to students in Arkansas and beyond as they complete their college degree.
"JBU Online is dedicated to reaching students with accredited, compressed curriculum in a format that best fits their busy schedules," Dr. Stacey Duke, dean of online undergraduate programs and strategic initiatives, said. "We are committed to the vision of integrating faith and learning, fostering holistic spiritual formation, promoting pragmatic liberal arts education and preparing people to follow Christ's call to serve others in all areas of life."
In 1993, JBU established the ADVANCE Degree Completion Program that allowed working adults the opportunity to complete their bachelor's degree. Since that time, more than 4,000 students have earned degrees through JBU's educational centers in Fort Smith, Little Rock and northwest Arkansas.
"We will continue to educate our students with highly-engaged faculty, cutting-edge technology and a commitment to academic excellence," Duke said. "We collaborate with our main campus faculty to develop online courses that prepare students for graduate school and for career advancement."
John Brown University's online undergraduate program offers bachelor's degree completion programs in business administration, liberal arts, management accounting, organizational leadership, and psychology. More than 300 students are currently enrolled from 10 states in the U.S.
