Alma beats Lady Panthers in five innings

n Siloam Springs’ game against Russellville was moved to Monday.

ALMA -- Siloam Springs grabbed an early 2-0 lead Tuesday in a 5A/6A District 1 softball game at Alma, but the Airedalettes answered with three big innings to run-rule the Lady Panthers in five innings.

Siloam Springs led 2-0 in the second inning, but Alma scored four in the bottom of the second to take a 4-2 lead.

The Airedalettes added four more runs in the fourth to go up 8-2.

Siloam Springs (3-15, 2-8) pulled within 8-3 with a single run in the top of the fifth, but Alma answered with five runs, including an inside-the-park grand slam by Abbye Ostrander, to go ahead by 10 runs and end the game.

Crissa Spry, Hannah Evans, Yazmine Alfaro, Danielle Boyster and Rachel Mann all had base hits for the Lady Panthers, with Mann also contributing two RBIs. Spry, Alfaro and Maranda Guntharp all scored runs.

Spry (3-10) took the loss in the circle.

The Lady Panthers' game against Russellville, scheduled for last week, was postponed to 5 p.m. Monday at La-Z-Boy Softball Park.

On Tuesday, Siloam Springs is scheduled to play its final regular season game at Greenwood.
