Junior high girls place seventh at conference meet

The Siloam Springs track program hosted the Northwest Arkansas Conference Junior High Track Meet on Tuesday at Glenn W. Black Stadium.

The top eight finishers in each event move on to compete at the NWA/River Valley Regional Meet at 3:30 p.m. on Monday at Springdale Har-Ber.

Girls

Siloam Springs finished seventh overall in the meet. Bentonville took first with 193.5 points, followed by Rogers 138.5, Fayetteville Purple 70.5, Rogers Heritage 64.5, Springdale Central 59, Fayetteville White 37, Siloam Springs 35, Bentonville West 13, Springdale George 7, Springdale Southwest 5 and Springdale Lakeside 1.

Jael Harried scored two points with a sixth-place mark of four feet, six inches in the high jump.

Harried placed eighth in the long jump and scored one point with a height of 14-9, while Brooke Henderson was 13th at 14-5.5 and Macie Harrell 20th at 13-9.5.

Henderson scored six points in the triple jump with a third-place finish of 32-2.5, while Rebekah Rodgers was 13th at 28-11.5 and Ella Zaidner 15th at 28-9.

Shealy Soucie placed 13th in the shot put at 30-6, with Alexis Castenada taking 18th at 28-5.5.

Castenada placed 13th in the discus with a throw of 65-10, while Soucie was 17th at 65-1.

Chelsea McWhorter, Jordan Rush and Rodgers all tied for ninth place in the pole vault with a height of 6-6.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Candy Dubon, Kimberly Guillen, Emma Hulbert and Rodgers placed second and scored eight points with a time of 10 minutes, 43.82 seconds.

Quincy Efurd scored three points after finishing sixth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.17, while Zaidner was ninth at 18.38, Harried 15th at 18.77 and Rush 28th at 19.82.

Henderson finished 25th in the 100-meter dash at 14.13, followed by Harrell in 30th at 14.53, Jaebri Johnston 32nd at 14.77 and Olivia Lasater 36th at 15.05.

Claudia Mercado placed 12th in the 1,600-meter run at 6:06.05, while Guillen was 18th at 6:25.50.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Efurd, Harrell, Henderson and Lasater placed seventh and scored two points with a time of 55.83.

Madison Race finished 16th in the 400-meter dash at 1:08.87, followed by Camryn Kendrick in 21st at 1:11.07, McWhorter 27th at 1:14.13 and Hattie Price 29th at 1:17.16.

Efurd placed third and scored six points in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 52.15, while Rodgers was sixth and scored three points at 53.86 and Price 29th at 1:07.49.

Dubon placed 14th in the 800-meter run at 2:42.06 followed by Hulbert in 15th at 2:42.06, Mejia in 17th at 2:45.29 and Mercado in 22nd at 2:49.81.

Harrell placed 24th in the 200-meter run at 30.45, while Johnston was 26th at 30.61, Henderson 29th at 31.00, and Lasater 32nd at 31.80.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Efurd, Hulbert, Kendrick and Race took fifth and scored four points with a time of 4:40.83.

Boys

Bentonville also won the boys meet with 161.5 points, followed by Rogers 157.5, Springdale Central 129, Fayetteville Purple 63, Fayetteville White 49, Bentonville West 16, Rogers Heritage 16, Springdale George 13, Springdale Southwest 8, Springdale Lakeside 5 and Siloam Springs 3.

Keegan Soucie earned two points with a seventh-place finish in the high jump of 5 feet, 6 inches.

Alex Arriaga placed 21st in the triple jump at 34-6.

Keondra Westbrook placed 16th in the shot put with a throw of 38-9.

Westbrook placed eighth and scored one point in the discus with a throw of 120-2, while Kolby Fesler placed 21st at 103-8, Mariano Dominguez 23rd at 103-0 and Hunter Dorsey 28th at 96-6.

Blaise Becan placed 14th in the pole vault at 8-0.

The Panthers' 4x800-meter relay team of Michael Capehart, Ethan Drake, Kade Price and Tyler Sharp placed 10th with a time of 10:27.95.

Arriaga finished 24th in the 110-meter hurdles at 19.58, while Cole Ellis was 27th at 20.49 and Anthony Spears 29th at 21.89.

Ozzy Hernandez finished 29th in the 100-meter dash at 12.51, while Nelson Ramirez was 34th at 12.90 and Andy Sisco 35th at 13.05.

Capehart placed 22nd in the 1,600-meter run at 5:37.04, while Andy Almanza was 31st at 6:06.08.

Miguel Paz placed 13th in the 400-meter dash at 57.51, while Nelson Ramirez was 23rd at 1:00.81 and Price 29th at 1:05.06.

Arriaga placed 27th in the 300-meter hurdles at 51.48, while Ellis was 28th at 51.79.

Paz placed 10th in the 800-meter run at 2:15.18, while Tyler Sharp placed 24th at 2:32.52, Ethan Drake 27th at 2:39.40 and Almanza 29th at 2:42.92.

Hernandez placed 21st in the 200-meter run at 26.08, with Soucie placing 24th at 26.58 and Ramirez 25th at 27.41.

The Panthers' 4x400-meter relay team of Drake, Paz, Price and Ramirez finished 10th at 4:22.34.
