Kansas track athletes compete at meets

The Kansas (Okla.) track teams competed April 20 at Catoosa.

Colton Capps qualified for the 200-meter finals, while Jamall Potter qualified in the 110-meter hurdles finals.

The junior high teams competed April 17 at Wyandotte. Team points were not kept.

The Kansas junior high girls 4x200-meter relay of J'Lynne Bryant, Sarah Brock, Alyssa Glass and Haylee Buck took third place at 2:09.72.

The team same relay team finished third in the 4x400-meter relay of 5:15.42.

Glass placed third in the 800-meter run at 2:56, while Bryant was fifth at 3:18.

Kolby Vaughan placed third in the shotput at 22-6.

For the junior high boys, Josiah Robinson placed fifth in the 1,600 meters at 6:22 in the sixth- and seventh-grade division.

The Comets' 4x100-meter relay team of William Hall, Easton Wiggins, Darkus Jumper, Dakota Davis placed third at 52.68.

The 4x200-meter relay team of Hall, Wiggins, Jumper and Davis placed second at 1:49.20.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Caleb Reding, Davis, Hall and Jumper finished with a time of 4:12.28.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Reding, Drew Patterson, Hall and Honaker finished first at 10:56.

Davis took fourth place in the 100-meter dash at 13.15, while William Houston was second in the 110-hurdles at 23.5.

Davis was fifth in the 200-meters at 27.26, while Honaker was third in the 800 meters at 2:39.52.

Jacob Jones placed first in the shot put at 39-2, while Tim Olinghouse was fifth and Reding sixth.

Reding placed fourth in the discus, while Jones was fifth.

Jumper's leap of 5-0 in the high jump was good for first place.

The Kansas track teams competed at the conference meet on Monday. Results were not available at presstime. The high school is scheduled to participate at the regional meet on Saturday at Chelsea.
