Bowlers compete well at NWA Holiday Tournament

n The boys won the tournament, while the girls finished second.

FAYTTEVILLE -- The Siloam Springs bowling teams competed in the NWA Holiday Bowling Tournament on Wednesday at Ozark Lanes.

The Panthers won the tournament overall with 3,733 points and finished first in the 7A-5A Division, besting Rogers Heritage, which had 3,598 points. Gentry was second overall and first in 4A-under with 3,711.

High games for Siloam Springs were Jacob Drum 222 and 190, Jordan Barker 215 and 192, and Nathaniel Brown 202 and 203.

The Lady Panthers finished second overall with 3,061 points and second in the 7A-5A Division to Rogers Heritage, which won the tournament with 3,280 points.

Bowling high games for Siloam Springs were Holly Green 175, Chrystine Ingerson 169, Savannah Middleton 161, Hannah Barker 158, Baylie Mullikin 157 and 153, and Sydney Smith 156.

"Over all I felt like we bowled fairly well," said Siloam Springs bowling coach Ken Bolinger. "There were some great games bowled. Our baker games were outstanding, I hope we can keep those up throughout the year. I am looking forward to how much we improve over the next few weeks."

Siloam Springs' next match will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, when the junior varsity competes at Elkins in Fayetteville. The varsity returns to action at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Gentry.
