U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Andrew W. McFerron graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

McFerron is the son of Donna Mchenry of Siloam Springs, Ark., and George McFerron of Prairie Grove, Ark.; grandson of Patsy Mcferron of Gentry, Ark.; and brother of David McFerron of Mt. Vernon, Ark. He is also the brother of Bethany Poteet and James McFerron.

The airman is a 2007 graduate of Siloam Springs High School in Siloam Springs.
