Ninth-graders compete in home track meet

The Siloam Springs track and field program held its annual Ninth-grade Panther Relays on Tuesday afternoon at Glenn W. Black Stadium.

The Lady Panthers finished ninth overall in the girls meet, while the Panthers tied for 21st in the boys meet.

Girls

Rogers won the meet with 169 points, followed by Pea Ridge 153.5, Bentonville 116, Gentry 116, Shiloh Christian 83, Rogers Heritage 82, Prairie Grove 73, Gravette 69 and Siloam Springs with 56. Springdale Central finished with 55 points, while Providence Academy had 37, Van Buren 31, Bentonville West 29, Greenland 27, Decatur 26.5, Springdale George 23, Farmington 22, Fayetteville White 17, Fayetteville Purple 16, Lincoln 8 and Springdale Southwest 2.

Jael Harried took third place in the high jump and scored six points for Siloam Springs with a height of 4 feet, 6 inches.

Harried then took fifth in the long jump and scored four points with a mark of 14-2.5.

Ella Zaidner scored four points in the triple jump with a distance of 28-9.5, while Brooke Henderson was sixth at 28-7 and scored three points and Rebecca Rodgers in seventh at 27-9 and scoring two points.

Shealy Soucie placed seventh in the discus at 62-6 and scored two points.

Soucie placed fifth in the shot put and scored four points with a mark of 29-11.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Candy Dubon, Kimberly Guillen, Emma Hulbert and Rodgers placed second and scored eight points with a time of 11 minutes, 15.51 seconds.

Harried took third place and scored six points in the 100-meter hurdles at 18.53 seconds, while Zaidner was fifth at 18.76 and scored four points and Rodgers ninth at 19.80.

Henderson finished 12th in the 100-meter dash at 14.57.

Claudio Mercado placed 10th in the 1,600-meter run at 6:18.31.

Rodgers took second place in the 300-meter hurdles at 55.59, scoring eight points, while Harried was 12th at 1:01.59 and Zaidner 15th at 1:04.57.

Hulbert finished fourth in the 800-meter run at 2:45.07 and scored five points.

Henderson was 20th in the 200-meter dash at 31.87.

Boys

Springdale Central won the boys meet with 160 points, followed by Gentry 133.5, Rogers 127.5, Pea Ridge 116.5, Providence Academy 74, Bentonville 69, Prairie Grove 63, Shiloh Christian 62, Fayetteville Purple 62, Van Buren 56, Fayetteville White 52, Lincoln 44, Gravette 43, Decatur 39, Springdale George 24, Farmington 21, Rogers Heritage 19.5, Greenland 19, Bentonville West 14, Springdale Southwest 7, and Springdale Lakeside and Siloam Springs each with 6.

Chase Mills placed 10th in the high jump at 5-0.

Blaise Becan was 12th in the pole vault at 7-0.

Nelson Ramirez finished 25th in the long jump with a distance of 14-8.5.

Jordan Church placed 12th in the triple jump at 34-4, while Andy Sisco was 14th at 33-0.

Mariano Dominguez placed fifth and scored four points in the discus at 109-11, while Jose Valencia was 25th at 75-8.

Dominguez placed 23rd at 34-2.5 in the shot put, while Zach Hailey was 31st at 28-0.5 and Valencia 32nd at 27-7.

Kolby Fesler finished 28th in the 110-meter hurdles at 22.27.

Church was 17th in the 100-meter dash at 12.69, while Sisco was 32nd at 13.08 and Ramirez 34th at 13.18.

Mills placed 22nd in the 1,600-meter dash with a time of 6:05.00, while Becan was 28th at 6:22.69.

Miguel Paz rounded out the Panthers' scoring with two points for finishing seventh in the 400-meter dash at 57.67, while Anthony Spears was 29th at 1:06.52.

Tyler Sharp finished 14th in the 800-meter dash at 2:31.10, while Valencia was 30th at 2:49.09.

Church was ninth in the 200-meter dash at 25.47, while Sisco was 26th at 26.96 and Ramirez 29th at 27.12.

Up next

The eighth- and ninth-grade teams are scheduled to compete Tuesday at the Junior High Lion Invitational in Gravette.
