John Paul Bierman

John Paul Bierman, 55, of Jerseyville, Ill., died May 17, 2017, at the Siloam Springs Regional Hospital in Siloam Springs, Ark.

He was born on July 10, 1961, in Jerseyville, to John F. Bierman and Anna Belle Ontis Bierman Holliday. He was married to Janice Fountain Bierman. He worked for Amsted Rail in Granite City as a sand mill operator.

He was preceded in death by his father; his wife; and a brother-in-law, John Taylor.

He is survived by his mother, Anna Belle Bierman Holliday of Jerseyville; two sons, Clayton Long of Marianna, Ark., and Wade and wife Tracey Long of Wasilla, Alaska; one daughter, Doni Jo Long of Siloam Springs; two sisters, Vicky Taylor of Watts, Okla., and Pennie Steele of Jerseyville; four brothers, Lester Bierman and wife Robin of Jerseyville, Eric Bierman and wife Judy of Medora, Ill., Dennis Bierman and wife Shelly Bierman of Jerseyville, and Pat Bierman of Jerseyville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Visitation and funeral service will be held at the Targhetta & Woolridge Funeral Home in Medora, Ill. Burial will be at the Medora Cemetery.

Floyd Dwayne Guthrie

Floyd Dwayne Guthrie, 67, of Gentry, Ark., died Thursday, May 18, 2017.

He was born on Aug. 9, 1949, in Prairie Grove, Ark., to Lois Sherrin Guthrie Rogers and the late Carl Franklin Guthrie. He enjoyed staying busy with his business of electrical contracting.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Guthrie; one son, Kevin Guthrie; and one sister, June Barton.

He is survived by his mother, Lois Rogers of Siloam Springs, Ark.; his wife, Leann of the home; one daughter, Melissa McGee of Stillwater, Okla.; one brother, Clyde and wife Karen, of Miller, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at the Westville Cemetery on May 20, 2017.
