FAYETTEVILLE -- Siloam Springs' junior high boys cross country team finished ninth out of 48 teams Saturday at the annual Chile Pepper Festival held at Agri Park in Fayetteville.
Conway's junior high boys won the race with 59 points, while the Panthers finished with 340 points.
A total of 789 boys were in the race, which was a 5K instead of the normal 2-mile for junior high, and Siloam Springs' Michael Capehart finished 37th overall with a time of 18 minutes, 45.1 seconds.
Blake Morrison took 61st overall for Siloam Springs with a time of 19:11.0, while Levi Fox was 82nd at 19:30.7.
Yanni Trinidad finished 99th overall at 19:44.3, while Javier Chavez was 106th at 19:48.2, Jason Flores 138th 20:18.7, Jordyn Baskins 140th 20:19.0, Wilson Cunningham 145th 20:21.9, Dane Kelley 186th 20:42.7 and Connor Clayton 191st 20:45.4.
Dylan Garcia finished 240th at 21:21.0, followed by Andy Almanza 247th at 21:25.1, Cooper Shaw 272nd 21:39.1, Bryson Yeager 283rd at 21:46.9, Tate Broquard 300th 21:58.0, Logan Sharp 335th 22:17.9, Caleb Poor 361st 22:40.3 and Seth Funk 370th 22:43.8.
Also running for Siloam Springs were: Gabriel Meehan 23:00.7, Jacob Poor 23:24.5, Keegan Hansen 23:30.9, Thad Goetz 23:38.7, Canyon Cross 23:57.4, Ben Haak 24:08.5, Nathan Vachon 24:16.4, Camden Blackfox 24:41.5, Malachi Becan 25:13.2, Nathan Thurstenson 25:20.7, Truman Janes 25:26.8, Caleb Rodgers 25:38.4, Marcus Conrad 25:53.4, Quiton Wilkie 26:39.5, Ben Stout 27:29.3, Riley Harrison 28:15.4 and Zeke Price 29:06.00.
Girls
Siloam Springs' junior high girls finished eighth out of 41 teams in the Chile Pepper Festival.
Bentonville won the race, which was made up of 558 junior high girls. The Lady Panthers finished with 321 points.
Ashlyn Walker was the Lady Panthers' top finisher at 23rd overall with a time of 21:40.7.
Grace Price placed 39th at 22:16.7, while Sydney Moorman was 78th at 23:14.7 and Jacilyn Weilnah 94th at 23:31.6.
Laurel Granderson finished 133rd at 24:27.7 with Lily Cole in 142nd at 24:37.7, Abby Thompson 150th 24:42.4, Leslie Cea 178th 25:14.1, Kendra Reimer 189th 25:27.7, Shayla Conley 219th 25:50.9, Crystal Mercado 246th 26:25.5, Vivian Conroy 272nd 27:04.4 and Sidney Pfeiffer 297th 27:26.2.
Also running for Siloam Springs was Leahla Schochler 27:33.6, Hannah Glass 28:32.1, Nyah Hostler 29:23.2, Deanna Floyd 415th 30:38.6, Samantha Blair 34:02.9, Hannah Green 35:51.8 and Alexis Blair 35:55.2.
