Alice Bishop Church

Alice Bishop Church, 62, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Sept. 14, 2017, at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale, Ark.

She was born June 9, 1955, in Blytheville, Ark., to Wanda Berry Smith and Walter Roland Bishop. Her stepfather, Van Buren Haggard also played an important role in her life. The family moved to Abilene, Texas, when she was 13, and she attended Abilene schools where she graduated from Abilene Christian High School in 1973 and Abilene Christian University in 1976. She married David Church on June 9, 2001, in Garfield, Ark.

Her favorite job was working as the manager of Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville, Ark., for 11 years. She was a City of Fayetteville Planning Commissioner and board member for Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, Crime Stoppers of Northwest Arkansas, and Arts Center of the Ozarks. The Northwest Arkansas Business Journal named her Business Executive of the Year in 2000.

She is survived by her husband; two children, Wyatt Church and Clara Church; mother, Wanda Smith of Stephenville, Texas; a brother, Berry Bishop and wife, Laurie of Hot Springs, Ark.; and a sister, Vanessa Halford and husband David of Stephenville.

Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2017.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association Arkansas Chapter, 1200 W. Walnut St. #2309, Rogers, AR 72756 or Second Chance Farm Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 1085, Granbury, TX 76048.

Lily Marie Murphy

Lily Marie Murphy, 18, of Gentry, Ark., died Sept. 17, 2017, at Tahlequah, Okla.

She was born April 14, 1999, in Tahlequah, Okla., to Terry Wayne Murphy and Carrie Michelle Brown Murphy. She graduated from Gentry High School in 2017, where she was a cheerleader. She was currently attending Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Don Brown.

She is survived by her parents, Terry and Carrie Murphy of Gentry; sister, Hayley Murphy of Gentry; brothers, Dylan Murphy of Gentry and Kyle Murphy of Siloam Springs, Ark.; paternal grandparents, Terry and Gayle Murphy of Gentry; maternal grandmother, Terry Marie Brown of Siloam Springs, Ark.; and great-grandmother, Irene Weldon of Gentry.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. till service time, Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Gentry.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Gentry. Burial will follow at Gentry Cemetery.

Lillian LaVerne Sanderson

Lillian LaVerne Sanderson, 78, of Bethany, Okla., died Sept. 13, 2017.

She was born Nov. 5, 1938, to Noah and Nellie Pitts of Siloam Springs.

She was a former resident of Morrow, Ark., and Siloam Springs, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Sanderson of Bethany.

She is survived by her daughter, Fancine Sanderson of Bethany; a sister, Betty Baker of Siloam Springs; and a brother, Charles Pitts of Siloam Springs.

LaNora Kay Savage

LaNora Kay Savage, 70, of Gentry, Ark., died Sept. 15, 2017, at Quail Ridge Living Center in Colcord, Okla.

She was born July 4, 1947, in El Dorado, Kan., to Robert Allen Sikes and Barbara Marzoff Sikes. She married Michael James Savage Sr. on March 19, 1965. She was a manager for several convenience stores and was a member of Faith Alive Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Wieczorek; and a sister, Bobbie.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Robert Savage of Gentry, Michael Savage Jr. and wife Christy of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Joseph Savage Sr. and wife Donna Miles of Gentry; a daughter, LeLaura Savage of Gentry; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Marlon Sikes and wife Laura of North Carolina.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 23, 2017, at Faith Alive Church, located at 668 Oklahoma Highway 59 South, Watts, Okla.
