Larry Dale Ellis

​Larry Dale Ellis, 68-year-old resident of Colcord, Oklahoma, died on September 21, 2017, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Born October 8, 1948, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, he was the son of Frank L. Ellis and Opal Marie Allen Ellis. Larry was a 1966 graduate of Colcord High School. He married Louise Brown on December 16, 1966 in Jay, Oklahoma. Larry served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969 with the 101st Airborne. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and Bronze Star Medal.

Larry graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Colcord as a mail clerk and assistant postmaster. Larry was the minister for the Colcord Church of Christ for 45 years. He was active in the Colcord Alumni Association and was a longtime girls' softball coach in Siloam Springs.

​He was preceded in death by one son, Travis Ellis; two brothers, J.C. Ellis and Dennis Ellis; one sister, Paula Dean Ellis; and one son-in-law, Brandon Haley.

​He is survived by his wife, Louise Ellis; one son, Michael Ellis and wife Missy of Colcord, Oklahoma; two daughters, Becky Farris and husband Will of Colcord, Oklahoma, and Angie Goucher and husband Grant of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren, Emily Farris, William Farris, Matthew Farris, Allison Haley, Kaitlyn Haley, Zach Haley, Meegan Ellis, Michaela Ellis, Merrick Ellis, Destiny Smith, Miracle Lawrence, and Maya Lawrence; one brother, Dwaine Ellis and wife Charlotte of Jay, Oklahoma; three sisters-in-law, Beryl Van Dyke of Decatur, Arkansas, Doris Swicegood of Colcord, Oklahoma, and Marlene Lawrence of Phoenix, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

​Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Hornet Arena, Colcord, Oklahoma, with Mr. Michael Ellis and Mr. Bruce Potter officiating. Burial will follow at Dickson Cemetery, Cherokee City, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. ​Shirley Jean Farmer, 79-year-old resident of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, passed September 19, 2017, at Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Born June 11, 1938, in Farmington, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Floyd Harrelson and Elpha Burris Harrelson. Shirley lived most of her life in Siloam Springs and Watts, Oklahoma. She married Thomas Farmer in Siloam Springs. Shirley worked for Simmons Foods and Franklin Electric for many years.

​She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Elpha Harrelson; her husband, Thomas Farmer; three sisters, Thelma, Leyan, and Glenda; and one brother, John Harrelson.

​She is survived by three daughters, Cliffie Dozier and husband Jerry of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, Debbie Vaughan and husband Kenneth of Kansas, and Dayla Stahl and husband Bill of Bella Vista, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Anthony Rye, Joshua Rye, Moriah Racheal Gutierrez and husband David, Nathan Vaughan, Blake Vaughan, Tayla Rae McCully and husband Chris, and Ali Philpott; great-grandchildren, Laken Gutierrez, Ethan, Avery and Sylis Vaughan, Maddy, Peyton and Emma McCully; two brothers, Don Harrelson and Roy Harrelson; three sisters, Juanita, Ina, and Bobbie; four stepchildren; numerous step-grandchildren, and numerous step-great-grandchildren.

​Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery in Watts, Oklahoma. Larry Neil Winder

Larry Neil Winder, 82-year-old resident of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died September 18, 2017, at Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale, Arkansas. Born July 10, 1935, in Galion, Ohio, he was the son of George Neil Winder and Kathryn Marie Weaver Winder.

Larry served in the United States Air Force. He worked at the Kennedy Space Center during the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space programs.

Larry married Diane Holden on May 1, 1965, in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Larry graduated from the University of Florida with a Master's Degree in Health and Hospital Administration in 1972. He worked as a hospital administrator from 1970 to 1993, including 10 years at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. After retiring as a hospital administrator, Larry worked with several partners to build and develop properties in the Siloam Springs community. He was a member of the Siloam Springs Rotary Club and a founder of the Sager Creek Arts Center. Larry was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Winder of the home; two daughters, Terri Pavatte and husband Tony of Lakeland, Tennessee, and Beth Graves and husband David of Siloam Springs; one son, Neil Winder and wife Helen of Siloam Springs; five grandchildren, Christie Pellegrin and husband Beau, Holden Graves and wife Amanda, Payton Pavatte, Kimmy Pavatte, and Jonathon Graves; and two brothers, Dr. Richard Winder and wife Maxine of Farmington, Missouri, and Jon Winder and wife Linda of Lynchburg, Virginia.

Memorial services were 2 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, with the Rev. Clark Atkins officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
