Eighth-graders compete at conference meet

SPRINGDALE -- The Siloam Springs eighth-grade boys finished fifth overall Monday at the Northwest Arkansas Conference Eighth-grade meet held in Springdale.

Fayetteville Woodland won the meet with 127 points, while Springdale Central was second at 99, followed by Bentonville Fulbright 59, Rogers Elmwood 58.5 and Siloam Springs 53. Bentonville Washington was sixth at 51, followed by Bentonville Lincoln 47, Fayetteville Ramay 37, Springdale Lakeside 35, Rogers Kirksey 33.5, Springdale Southwest 16, Rogers Oakdale 4 and Rogers Lingle 4.

Jace Sutulovich won the shot put with a first-place finish of 10 points with a throw of 44 feet, 10 inches. Truman Janes placed sixth and scored three points at 37-9, while Caden McHaney was 12th at 36-6 and Jonah Ganter 30th at 31-7.

Janes finished first place in the discus and scored 10 points at 136-5.5, while Sutulovich was third and scored six points at 126-10.75, and Alexis Miranda just missed a scoring position at 115-3 and finished ninth.

Christian Ledeker won the 110-meter hurdles at 16.96 and scored 10 points, while Ty Lewis was 28th at 20.83, Josh Stewart 32nd at 21.05 and Zach Jones 40th at 22.06.

Ledeker placed second in the triple jump at 38-10 and scored eight points, while David Gowin was 24th at 33-3 and Lewis 26th at 33-0.

Ledeker placed sixth and scored three points in the long jump at 17-6, while Gowin was 20th at 16-8.

Gowin placed sixth in the pole vault at 8-0 and scored three points, while Tate Broquard was ninth at 7-6, and Javyn Whayler also cleared 7-6.

The Panthers' 4x800-meter relay of Broquard, Javier Chavez, Jason Flores and Aidan Blevins placed 10th at 10:04.86.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Gowin, Ledeker, Colton Washington and Lewis placed 11th at 51.16.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Chavez, Flores, Hull and Lewis also placed 11th at 4:22.47.

Ledeker placed 12th in the high jump at 5-2, while Stewart was also at 5-2.

Flores took 20th in the 1,600-meter run at 5:32.98, while Liam Scott was 37th at 5:52.04, Ben Haak 44th at 6:38.82 and Malachi Becan 45th at 6:43.53.

Colton Washington placed 26th in the 100-meter dash at 12.87, while Gowin was 41st at 13.44, Whayler 42nd at 13.44 and Zachary Hull 44th at 13.60.

Stewart placed 28th in the 300-meter hurdles at 52.38, while Jake McDaniel was 35th at 56.54 and Zach Jones 57.53.

Lewis was 34th in the 200-meter dash at 27.90 and Keegan Fessler 37th at 29.29.

Malachi Taylor took 38th in the 400-meter dash at 1:08.82, while Christopher Estacio was 39th at 1:18.77.

Girls

The Siloam Springs eighth-grade girls finished eighth overall.

Woodland won the girls meet with 206.83 points, followed by Bentonville Lincoln 121, Rogers Kirksey 56.83, Bentonville Fulbright 56, Fayetteville Ramay 50, Rogers Elmwood 47.33, Bentonville Washington 45, Siloam Springs 33, Springdale Southwest 6, Rogers Oakdale 1 and Rogers Lingle 1.

Chloe Chandler placed second and scored eight points in the discus at 81-0.5, while Oneida Batres was fifth and scored four points at 74-2, Breanna Wood seventh at 68-7.5 for two points and Cora Dewey eighth at 65-11.75 and one point.

Dewey scored six points by placing third in the shot put at 31-9, while Wood was 10th at 29-4.5, Makaylee Reichenecker 14th at 28-3 and Chandler 16th at 27-5.

Faith Ellis placed fourth in the triple jump at 31-6.5 and scored five points, while Sofia Lange was 10th at 30-1, Bethany Markovich 14th at 29-2.5, and Kami Hulbert 19th at 27-4.5.

Cailee Johnson placed seventh in the pole vault at 7-0 and scored two points.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Markovich, Ellis, Yoceline Gomez and Rachel Davis placed seventh at 57.52 and scored two points.

Emma Norberg placed seventh in the 300-meter hurdles at 54.46 with Hulbert placing 19th at 59.18, Johnson 20th at 59.71 and Free 26th at 1:02.63.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Hannah Glass, Lange, Hulbert and Davis took eighth place and scored one point with a time of 4:52.17.

The Lady Panthers' 4x800-meter relay team of Hannah Glass, Jacilyn Weilnah, Lange and Makyla Lemon placed 10th at 12:23.61.

Johnson placed 12th in the 100-meter hurdles at 18.48, while Norberg was 16th at 18.72, Hailee Free 20th at 19.51 and Hulbert 29th at 20.14.

Markovich finished 12th in the 200-meter dash at 29.53, while Gomez was 20th at 30.89, Hannah Riley 22nd at 31.02 and Ellis 23rd at 31.23.

Lange placed 15th in the long jump at 13-9.5, while Hulbert was 26th at 13-1.5.

Markovich was 16th in the 100-meter dash at 14.06, while Ellis was 18th at 14.16, Riley 26th at 14.51 and Gomez 30th at 14.66.

Glass placed 20th in the 400-meter dash at 1:11.07, while Lange was 24th at 1:11.99, Lemon 25th at 1:12.49 and Williamson 43rd at 1:21.32.

Kadynce Hilburn placed 23rd in the 1,600-meter run at 6:28.42 with Laurel Granderson 28th at 6:40.80 and Shayla Conley 29th at 6:45.28.

Weilnah placed 27th in the 800-meter run at 2:59.09, with Granderson in 30th at 3:03.72.
