Junior high track competes at regional meet

GREENWOOD -- The Siloam Springs junior high track teams competed at the Northwest Arkansas/River Valley Regional Track Meet held Monday at Smith-Robinson Stadium at Greenwood.

Boys

Siloam Springs finished eighth in the boys meet. Bentonville won the meet with 170 points, followed by Rogers with 114, Springdale Central 62, Fayetteville Purple 44, Springdale Southwest 33, Bentonville West 32, Fort Smith Kimmons 28, Siloam Springs 25, Rogers Heritage 23, Fort Smith Chaffin 18, Van Buren 16, Fort Smith Ramsey 13.5, Springdale Lakeside 13, Alma 9, Fayetteville White 9, Fort Smith Trinity 5.5, Greenwood 5 and Fort Smith Darby 4.

Christian Ledeker placed third in the triple jump at 37-3 and scored six points.

Keondre Westbrook placed third in the shot put at 45-7 and scored six points, while Jace Sutulovich was ninth at 41-7.25.

Sutulovich finished sixth in the discus at 129-9 and scored three points.

Jeff Palvinson scored three points with a sixth-place finish in the long jump at 17-8.

Palvinson finished fourth in the 100-meter dash at 11.58 and scored five points.

Palvinson also finished seventh in the 200-meter dash at 24.34 and scored two points.

Girls

Siloam Springs finished ninth in the girls meet. Fayetteville Purple won the meet with 111 points, while Rogers was second at 83.5, followed by Bentonville 79, Springdale Central 61.5, Fort Smith Ramsey 52, Fayetteville White 51, Bentonville West 37, Alma 35.5, Siloam Springs 32, Van Buren 21.5, Fort Smith Chaffin 20, Greenwood 16, Fort Smith Darby 8, Rogers Heritage 6, Fort Smith Kimmons 4, Fort Smith Trinity 3 and Springdale Southwest 3.

Quincy Efurd was second and scored eight points in the 100-meter hurdles at 17.00.

Efurd also took second in the 300-meter hurdles at 49.76 and scored eight points.

The Lady Panthers' 4x400-meter relay team of Hattie Price, Efurd, Camryn Kendrick and Ashlyn Walker placed third at 4:29.29 and scored six points.

Chelsea McWhorter took fourth in the pole vault at 8-0 and scored five points.

Cora Dewey placed sixth in the shot put at 32-5.25 and scored three points.

Chloe Chandler took seventh place in the discus at 73-3 and scored two points, while Breanna Wood was 11th at 68-8.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Rebecca Largent, Bethany Mejia, Hannah Pittman and Walker placed ninth at 11:46.01.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Jaerbi Johnston, Kendrick, Efurd and Bethany Markovich took ninth at 55.5.
