Panthers win at Harrison

HARRISON -- The Siloam Springs boys soccer team bounced back from its first conference loss and picked up a big road win Monday night.

The Panthers (11-5-3) scored a pair of first half goals and held off Harrison 2-1 in 5A/6A District 1 action at F.S. Garrison Stadium.

"We played well in the first half, then didn't look too interested in the second half," said Siloam Springs coach Brent Crenshaw. "We got the win, but I'm worried about how we haven't played with much urgency the past few weeks. I hope they turn it on because we have the talent."

Eli Jackson scored the Panthers' goal early in the first half with an assist to Christian Marroquin.

Marroquin then put the Panthers up 2-0 with a penalty kick with around 11 minutes left in the first half for a 2-0 halftime lead.

Harrison scored its goal on a penalty kick with just a little more than 13 minutes left.

The Panthers and Lady Panthers were scheduled to play at Dardanelle on Tuesday in a nonconference game. Results were not available at presstime.

Both teams are scheduled to wrap up conference play Thursday at Clarksville.

Both teams are also scheduled to play at home Saturday in the opening round of the 6A-West Conference Tournament. Gametimes and opponents were not available at presstime.
