Ninth-grade girls win at Rogers Heritage

ROGERS -- Siloam Springs' ninth-grade girls picked up a 45-36 victory on Thursday at Rogers Heritage.

The Lady Panthers led 13-8 after the first period and 24-22 at halftime. Siloam Springs pulled ahead 36-33 going into the foruth quarter, where it outscored Heritage 9-3.

Mia Hevener led the Lady Panthers (10-4) with 17 points, while Jadyn Still had 12, Quincy Efurd nine, Julia Jackson five and Makenna Thomas two.

The ninth-grade girls lost to Bentonville 46-20 on Wednesday. The Lady Panthers led 11-10 after the first quarter, but Bentonville pulled ahead 22-13 at halftime and 38-17 going into the fourth quarter.

Hevener led the Lady Panthers with 10 points, while Still had five, Jackson and Sydney Moorman each with two and Hattie Price one.

The ninth-grade boys lost at Rogers Heritage 20-16 on Thursday. The Panthers dropped to 7-7 with the loss.

The ninth-grade boys were defeated by Bentonville 34-30 on Wednesday in a makeup game from Jan. 15.

Bentonville led 8-4 after the first period and 24-10 at halftime. The Panthers rallied to within 30-22 going into the fourth quarter.

Max Perkins led the Panthers with 12, while Breck Soderquist had 10 and Elijah Coffey, Cam Collins, Jared Clark and Jackson Ford each with two.

The ninth-grade teams are back in action on Monday at Springdale Southwest.

Eighth-grade

The Siloam Springs eighth-grade boys picked up a 39-29 win Thursday at Bentonville Washington.

Caden Pharr led the Panthers (4-5) with 10 points, while Carter Winesburg had nine, Brendan Lashley eight, Jedidiah Hunter six and Hunter Talley, Jace Sutulovich and Jaxon Koistra with two each.

The eighth-grade girls were defeated by Washington 33-24.

Halle Hernandez led the Lady Panthers (3-6) with 10 points, while Reina Tiefel had nine and Hannah Riley five.

The eighth-grade teams return to action at home Monday against Springdale Southwest.
