Senior Ryan Williams of the John Brown University men's soccer team was named the Sooner Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
In the seventh installment of the weekly conference awards that spanned Oct. 1-7, Williams reeled in his first career SAC weekly honors after he posted four goals and an assist the Golden Eagles' pair of victories on the week. He now owns five goals and three assists (13 points) on the season, leading John Brown in scoring.
The senior scored twice and added an assist in JBU's 3-1 upset of Science and Arts (Okla.) on Saturday, factoring in on all three goals in the contest. Against Bacone (Okla.) earlier in the week, Williams tallied his first brace of the week with a pair of goals against the Warriors in the Golden Eagles' lopsided 10-0 victory.
With his pair of goals on the week, Williams recorded his first multi-goal outing since Sept. 15, 2015, when he posted a pair of goals against Evangel (Mo.).
