Junior high cross country teams enjoy PRs

The Siloam Springs junior high boys had six runners place in the top 20 and the Panthers won the 5A-6A junior high boys division of the Huntsville Invitational on Tuesday.

Siloam Springs finished with 38 points, followed by Fayetteville Junior High 53, Rogers 68, Springdale Southwest 69 and Springdale Tyson 150.

The junior high boys had 26 personal records and four season best times in the race.

Levi Fox led the Panthers with a fifth-place finish of 11 minutes, 42.43 seconds, followed in sixth by Wilson Cunningham at 11:48.58, Nathan Hawbaker in seventh at 11:50.39 and Noah Granderson ninth at 11:55.82.

Connor Clayton placed 11th at 12:00.38, while Liam Scott was 16th at 12:20.14 and Nathan Vachon 27th at 12:47.32 to round out the Panthers' top seven scores.

Tyler Cottrell placed 29th at 12:59.56, while Ben Haak was 30th at 13:00.55, Cooper Shaw 33rd at 13:10.52, Charlie Hyde 34th at 13:13.67, Tate Broquard 35th at 13:15.69 and Cayden Hansen 36th 13:18.87.

Nathen Thurstenson placed 40th at 13:23.66, while Logan Sharp was 41st at 13:23.66, Camden Blackfox 44th at 13:35.54, Barrett Eldridge 46th at 13:36.79, Truman Janes 47th at 13:41.88 and Ferdi Blume 48th at 13:55.55.

Samuel Herndon finished in 14:03.96, followed by Malachi Becan 14:05.98, Caleb Rodgers 14:19.85, Jared Brewer 14:24.84, Bryson Yeager 14:26.98 and Keegan Hansen 14:37.80.

Also running for Siloam Springs was Ezekiel Becan 14:44.43, Caleb Wallace 14:44.57, Ivan Parra 14:51.97, Ben Stout 14:57.28, Dane Kelly 15:08.76, Riley Harrison 15:10.86, Noah Sharp 15:31.87, Jacob Moorman 15:37.48 and Rowan Turner 17:56.13.

Girls

The Siloam Springs girls also had six of the top 20 finishers and scored 33 points and placed first in the 5A-6A junior high girls division.

Fayetteville placed second with 45 points, while Rogers was third at 62 and Springdale Southwest in fourth at 92.

The junior high girls had 13 personal records and seven season bests on the day.

Shelby Smith placed second overall at 13:11.63, while Emily Brown was fourth at 13:15.96, Ellen Slater eighth at 13:53.72 and Grace Price ninth at 13:54.13.

Addison Pilcher placed 10th at 14:07.71, while Shaley Conley was 13th at 14:51.60 and Lillian Wilkie 21st at 15:36.50 to round out the Lady Panthers' top seven scores.

Avery Carter placed 22nd at 15:38.27, while Lexi Lane was 25th at 15:50.94 and Ava Anglin was 26th at 15:53.58.

Faith Harris finished 28th at 16:05.82, while Anna Floyd was 30th at 16:07.12 and Leahla Schochler 33rd at 16:25.72.

Also running for Siloam Springs was Crystal Mercado 17:18.52, Joy Nam 17:22.63, Ridley Floyd 17:48.57, Vivian Conroy 18:15.81, Laura Fields 18:18.95, Jenna Keys 18:40.92 and Hannah Green 50th at 24:18.23.
