Junior high volleyball sweeps George

The Siloam Springs ninth-grade volleyball team picked up a 2-0 (25-21, 25-13) victory against Springdale George on Thursday night.

Brianna Wood, Cora Dewey and Makaylee Reicheneker each had four kills to lead the Lady Panthers, while Sophia Lange and Dorothy Swearingen both had three kills.

Wood led with three aces, while Swearingen had two aces and one block. Lange added one block for Siloam Springs (2-2).

The eighth-grade A team picked up a 2-0 (25-17, 25-18) win over George to improve to 3-2 on the season.

The seventh-grade A team defeated J.O. Kelly 2-0 (25-15, 25-19) to improve to 2-3 on the year.

Tuesday's games

The ninth-graders came up short Tuesday at Fayetteville White as the Purple'Dogs took a 2-1 (26-24, 26-28, 15-9) victory over the Lady Panthers.

Brianna Wood led Siloam Springs with four kills and four aces, while Dorothy Swearingen had four kills, one ace and one block and Makaylee Reicheneker four kills and one block. Sophia Lange added one kill and two blocks, while Cora Dewey had one kill.

The eighth-graders picked up a pair of wins at Rogers Oakdale. In the A game, Siloam Springs defeated Oakdale 25-11, 25-15, while the Lady Panthers won the B game 25-19, 25-10.

The seventh-grade team lost 2-1 to Oakdale. The Lady Panthers won the first set 25-13 before losing the next two 25-9 and 15-13.

Up next

The seventh- and eighth-grade teams are back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at home against Bentonville Lincoln, while the ninth-graders are scheduled to host Rogers.
